Processing of Unfair Means / Misbehavior / Violation of Examinations Regulations Cases

 

  1. The Office of the Controller of Examinations shall refer all the Unfair Means / Misbehavior / Violation of Examination Regulations cases to the Unfair Means Committee, who shall decide the cases within thirty-five (35) days after the receipt.

  2. A show cause notice shall be issued by the Unfair Means Committee to the student(s) for explanation. The student(s) shall reply within the prescribed time period.

  3. If a student failed to reply within the prescribed time period, 2nd show cause notice shall be issued by the Unfair Means Committee.

  4. If a student fails to reply to the 2nd show cause notice within the prescribed time period, an ex-parte decision shall be taken by the Unfair Means Committee.

  5. The Unfair Means Committee, if so desires, may call the student in person for hearing.

  6. The Unfair Means Committee, after due investigation; if found guilty, shall take any of the following action(s) keeping in view the nature and intensity of the offence:

    1. Letter of warning.

    2. Annulment of one or more examinations.

    3. Failed in the Paper(s).

    4. Fine of minimum Rs. 5000/- for local and US$ 100 for overseas students.

    5. Temporary Rustication from the University

    6. Permanent expulsion from the University

     

  8. If a student commits a cognizable offence, the University may, in addition to acting under the above regulations, initiate legal proceedings against the offender under the Law.
