Course Selection
Ph.D. (Biotechnology)
Rules: |
Students enrolled in the first semester of their study Program are given pre-selected courses; all other students may select their own courses subject to their scheme of studies and the limitations prescribed in the rules below.
i. For the first and second semesters a maximum of 12 credit hours are allowed including required/ deficiency courses.
ii. For the third to sixth semesters a maximum of 12 credit hours are allowed for thesis.
iii. For any extra subsequent semesters a maximum of 12 credit hours are allowed.
Students taking less than the course load prescribed by their scheme of studies will require additional semesters to complete the curriculum; in such cases they will also have to bear the extra cost.
During a study program, students may attempt to improve a ‘B-‘ , ‘C’ or ‘D’ grade course only once before completion of entire course work program.
Rules for the Research Thesis |
i. passed 18 credit hours with minimum CGPA 3 out of 4.
ii. passed written comprehensive exam (18 credit hours) with minimum 60% marks in maximum two attempts (Ph.D. Level courses) as prescribed.
iii. passed oral comprehensive exam with minimum 60% marks in maximum two attempts.
iv. defended PhD research proposal
v. get published one review paper of his/her area of reach
vi. get published minimum one first author research paper in HEC recognized journal
vii. get presented/read one first author research paper in a national/ international conference
viii.deliver in-house dissertation presentation before dissertation submission
ix. get approved dissertation by two foreign experts for technically advanced countries
x. deliver dissertation presentation (open to all) before the award of PhD degree.

RECOMMENDATION: Full Time Regular Students Are Urged To Follow Their Prescribed Scheme Of Studies.
