Course Selection

BS Mathematics

Rules:
  1. A student who has not studied Mathematics during their 12 years of prior education shall be required to complete a deficiency course, which will be offered in the first semester 20 credit hours are allowed.

2.    Students enrolled in the first semester of their study program are given pre-selected courses from respective study scheme by the system the limitations prescribed in the rules below.

    1. For the first semester a maximum of 17 credit hours is allowed.
    2. For the second and subsequent semester a maximum of 18 credit hours is allowed. In case any student wishes to enroll for one more course beyond the specified credit hours limit in the last semester, should submit his/her request to the Rector through HOD and Dean. He/she may be allowed by the Rector if student’s CGPA is 3.00 or above out of 4.
    3. The minimum course load in a semester shall be according to the study scheme, but in special circumstances it can be minimum of 03-credit hours.

Note: The maximum credit hour limit includes any course(s) taken for improvement or repeated due to an 'F' grade.

  1.  Students taking less than the course load prescribed by their scheme of studies will require extra semesters to complete the curriculum; in such cases they will also have to bear the additional cost.
  2. A student can anytime improve a course in which his/her obtained grade is less than “B”. In such case he/she must repeat the improvement course(s) in the forthcoming semester(s), in which that course is offered.

Rules for Internship and Capstone Project:
  1. The Internship and Capstone Project shall be of 03-Credit Hours each and will be offered in the 7th and 8th semester.
  2. To enrol Internship and Capstone Project, students must have:
    1. Achieved a CGPA of 2 or higher.
    2. Earned 92 or more credit hours.

Procedure:

In order to select your courses, follow the steps below:

  1. From within the LMS, click the Student Services button.
  2. Click on the Course Selection link.
  3. Give preference to "F" grade course(s) and the improvement of "D" grades where possible.
  4. Click the check boxes to select courses.
  5. Save the selection.
  6. You may make changes in course selection any number of times before the last date to add, drop or replace course(s).

Note: In case, a student fails to complete the Internship and Capstone Project within the stipulated time due to verifiable recorded reasons, an extension of maximum one semester may be granted by the Dean of the faculty on the recommendation of Head of Department. The permissible maximum duration of the study program shall apply while granting extension.
