- Students
enrolled in the first semester of their study program are given
pre-selected courses from respective study scheme by the system. But in
case of elective courses, students can select elective course of their own
choice. All other students may select their own courses subject to their
scheme of studies and the limitations prescribed in the rules below.
- The
credit hour limits are as below:
- A
maximum of 18 credit hours per semester are allowed. However, in special
circumstances the University may allow to enroll a maximum 21 credit
hours. However, the students admitted
based on Deficiency courses will enroll a maximum of 20 credit hours for
the first and second semester.
Note: VU001 course is
mandatory to enroll and qualify.
- In
case any student wishes to enroll for one more course beyond the
specified credit hours limit in the last two semesters, should submit
his/her request to the Rector through Dean. He/she may be allowed by the
Rector provided that student’s CGPA is 3.00 or above out of 4.
- For
Final semester, maximum 21 credit hours of coursework are allowed in
addition to Project/Internship as applicable, subject to the condition
that all degree requirements will be completed within the same semester
and no other course selection rules, such as pre-requisite or
specialization requirements, will be violated.
- The
minimum course load in a semester shall be according to the study scheme,
but in special circumstance it can be minimum of 03-credit hours.
Note: Maximum limits prescribed
for enrollment of credit hours includes courses enrolled for improvement, if
any.

Student must select
theory and its practical course in the same semester (where applicable).
However, if the student fails in theory/practical, then, he/she can take the
failed course only.
- Students
taking less than the course load prescribed by their scheme of studies
will require extra semesters to complete the curriculum; in such cases
they will also have to bear the additional cost.
- During
a study program, students may attempt to improve a course with grade less
than B.
- Students
enrolled through “Entry Route Exemption” will be given a list of courses
not exempted from first five semesters from respective study scheme.
Students can select the courses subject to the limitations prescribed in
the rules below.
i.
A
maximum of 21 credit hours per semester are allowed.
ii.
In case

Rules for Final Year
Project:

- The
Final Year Project shall be of 06-Credit Hours and will be split in the 7th and
8th semester equally (carrying a workload of 3 credit
hours per semester).
- To
enroll in the Final Year Project, :
i. A CGPA of 1.75 or higher is
required. Whereas, CGPA of 1.90 or higher is required for students enrolled in
Fall 2021 onward.
ii. A minimum of 90 credit hours
are required.
In
order to select your courses, follow the steps below:
- From
within the LMS, click the Student Services button
- Click
on the Course Selection link
- Give
preference to "F" grade course(s) and the course(s) where
improvement of grades is possible
- Click
the check boxes to select courses
- Save
the selection
- You
may make changes in course selection any number of times before the last
date to add, drop or replace course(s).
Note:
In case, a student fails to complete the Final Year Project within the
stipulated time due to verifiable recorded reasons, an extension of maximum one
semester may be granted by the Dean of the faculty on the recommendation of
Head of Department. The permissible maximum duration of the study program shall
apply while granting extension.

RECOMMENDATION:
Full Time Regular Students Are Urged To Follow Their Prescribed Scheme Of
Studies.
