Rules:

  1. Students enrolled in the first semester of their study program are given pre-selected courses from respective study scheme by the system; all other students may select their own courses subject to their scheme of studies and the limitations prescribed in the rules below.
  2. The credit hour limits are as below:
    1. Deficiency students must complete 19 credit hours in the bridging semester prior to enrollment in the fifth semester.
    2. A maximum of 18 credit hours per semester are allowed. However, in special circumstances university may allow students to enroll maximum 21 credit hours.
    3. In case any student wishes to enroll for one more course beyond the specified credit hours limit in the last two semesters, should submit his/her request to the Rector through Dean. He/she may be allowed by the Rector provided that student’s CGPA is 3.00 or above out of 4.
    4. The minimum course load in a semester shall be according to the study scheme, but in special circumstances it can be minimum of 03-credit hours.
  3. Students taking less than the course load prescribed by their scheme of studies will require extra semesters to complete the curriculum; in such cases they will also have to bear the additional cost.
  4. A student can anytime improve a course in which his/her obtained grade is less than “B”. In such a case he/she must repeat the improvement course(s) in the forthcoming semester(s), in which that course is offered. 
  5. Pathway for Associate degree holders:

                      i.        Students who have completed an associate degree in a discipline equivalent to the undergraduate degree program being applied for shall be eligible for admission policy into the relevant undergraduate program and a blanket exemption of credits obtained in the associate degree shall be awarded.

                    ii.         The minimum residency period for such entrants will be four semesters.

                   iii.        The maximum residency period for such students shall not exceed eight semesters, subject to the University’s standard academic regulations regarding course progression and completion.

 

6.    Pathway for Associate degree holders from other disciplines.

 

                     I.        Students who have completed an Associate degree in a discipline different from the undergraduate/equivalent degree program they are applying to shall be required to complete a bridging semester.

                    II.        The minimum residence period for such entrants shall be five semesters.

                  III.        The maximum residence period for such students, including the bridging semester, shall not exceed nine semesters.

Rules for Field Experience (ECOI619):

1.    The Field Experience/Internship shall be of 3-Credit Hours and will be offered in 3rd semester.

2.     In order to enroll for a Field Experience/Internship, students must have:

                      i.        Achieved a CGPA of 2.0 or higher.

                    ii.        A minimum of 30 credit hours is required.

3.    Students are required to complete 6-8 weeks Internship/Field Experience in any organization. Students will submit a detailed internship report and will give a viva presentation

4.    If a student fails to qualify/pass of the Field Experience, the “F” grade will be awarded to the student in the Capstone project. 

 

Rules for Capstone Project:

 

1.    Capstone project will be of 03 Credit hours and will be offered in 4th semester. It will be a graded course; and if a student fails to qualify of the Capstone Project, the “F” grade will be awarded to the student.

Report Writing: 75

Viva: 25

      2.  In order to enroll for a Capstone Project, students must have:

i. Achieved a CGPA of 2.0 or higher.

ii. A minimum of 45 credit hours are required.

     3.  Students will submit a detailed write-up of the research project and will give a viva presentation. Only those students will be called for a viva presentation, who will pass the written work.

Procedure:

In order to select your courses, follow the steps below:

  1. From within the LMS, click the Course Selection link
  2. Give preference to "F" grade course(s) and the improvement of "D" grades where possible
  3. Click the check boxes to select courses
  4. Save the selection
  5. You may make changes in course selection any number of times before the last date to add, drop or replace course(s).

 

Note: In case, a student fails to complete the Final Year Project within the stipulated time due to verifiable recorded reasons, an extension of maximum one semester may be granted by the Dean of the faculty on the recommendation of Head of Department. The permissible maximum duration of the study program shall apply while granting extension.

RECOMMENDATION: Full Time Regular Students Are Urged To Follow Their Prescribed Scheme Of Studies.
