Course Selection
B.Ed. (Hons) Elementary
- Students enrolled
in the first semester of their study program are given pre-selected
courses from the respective study scheme by the system; students of other
semesters may select their own courses subject to their scheme of studies
and the limitations prescribed in the rules below.
- The credit hour
limits are as below:
- A maximum of 18 credit hours is allowed
per semester.
- In
case any student wishes to enrol in one more course beyond the specified
credit hours limit in the last semesters (7th & 8th)
should submit his/her request to the Rector through Dean. Students may be
allowed to select for up to 21 credit hours. The
Rector may permit them, provided that the student's CGPA is greater
than 3.0 out of 4.
- The minimum
course load in a semester shall be according to the study scheme, but in
special circumstances it can be a minimum of 03-credit hours.
- Students taking
less than the courseload prescribed by their scheme of studies will
require extra semesters to complete the curriculum; in such cases they
will also have to bear the additional cost.
- During a study
program, students may attempt to improve a less than "B" grade
course.
Note: Maximum limits
prescribed for enrolment of credit hours also include F' or 'D' grade courses,
if the student intends to be enrolled.

A pool of interdisciplinary courses is offered/added in each
semester.
2.
Students will select one course per semester from semester 5 to
onwards.
3.
Students will study four interdisciplinary courses (4 × 3=12) of 12
cr. hrs. in total.
1.
The Final Year Project (Capstone) shall be of 03-Credit Hours (EDUA630) and
will be selected in the 8th semester. To enrol for the Final Year Project
student must:
i.
Achieved a CGPA of 2.0 or higher
ii.
Earned minimum 100 credit hours
iii.
Passed
the course EDU407-Reseaech Methods in Education
Note:
If a student fails to qualify for the Final Year Project, the “F” grade
will be awarded to the students in the Final Year Project.
Rules for Teaching Practice/Internship:

1. Students
will complete 6 cr. hrs. (6-8 weeks field experience) teaching practice courses
(TPTA519 and TPTB519).
2.
Students will select Teaching Practice course (TPT519-I) only
after meeting the following edibility criteria.
Students must:
i.
Passed EDU301-General Method of Teaching
ii.
Achieved a CGPA of 2.0 or higher
iii.
Earned minimum 49 credit hours
Note: Evaluation of the
courses "Teaching Practice” will be graded as per the university criteria
and will affect a student's CGPA. However, being a compulsory requirement, it
is necessary to pass these courses to fulfil the requirements of the degree
program.
Procedure
of Course Selection:

To select your courses, follow
the steps below:
- From within the
LMS, click the Student Services button.
- Click on the Course
Selection link.
- Give preference to
"F" grade course(s) and the improvement of "D" grades
where possible.
- Click the check
boxes to select courses.
- Save the
selection.
- You may make
changes in course selection any number of times before the last date to
add, drop or replace course(s).
Note: In case, a
student fails to complete the Final Year Project within the stipulated time due
to verifiable recorded reasons, an extension of maximum one semester may be
granted by the Dean of the faculty on the recommendation of Head of Department.
The permissible maximum duration of the study program
shall apply while granting extension.

studies under the Student Services section in your LMS account, in case of any
confusion.

Students Are Urged to Follow Their Prescribed Scheme of Studies.
