Course Selection

Associate Degree in Business Analytics

Rules:

  1. 1.     Students enrolled in the first semester of their study program are given pre-selected courses; all other students may select their own courses subject to their scheme of studies and the limitations prescribed in the rules below. The students who have not studied Mathematics at the intermediate level have to pass deficiency courses in Mathematics (06 credits) in the first two semesters.

2.    The credit hour limits are as below:

For deficiency students:

i.              For the first and second semester 21 credits hours are allowed.

For non-deficiency students:

i.      For the first semester a maximum of 18 credit hours is allowed. For the second semester, a maximum of 18 credit hours is allowed

ii.     For the third and subsequent semester(s) a maximum of 18 credit hours are allowed. However, in certain cases, the University may allow to enroll maximum 21 credit hours.

iii.    For the final semester maximum 21 credit hours are allowed subject to the condition that all degree requirements will be completed within the same semester. In case any student wishes to enroll for one more course beyond the specified credit hours limit in the last two semesters, should submit their request to the Rector through Dean. Rector may allow for the additional course if student’s CGPA is 3.00 or above out of 4.00.

iv. A student who scores “F” grade in any course(s) in a Semester, shall have to repeat that specific course(s) in the forthcoming semester(s) when that course(s) is/are offered by the University.

v.  In case a student repeats one or more course(s) and fails to improve the grade, then the grade obtained previously by the student may be retained.

Note:    i. Maximum limits prescribed for enrollment of credit hours includes ‘F’ or ‘D’ grade courses, if any enrolled.

3.     Students taking less than the course load prescribed by their scheme of studies will require extra semesters to complete the curriculum; in such cases they will also have to bear the additional cost.

4.     A student can anytime improve a course in which his/her obtained grade is less than

“B”. In such case he/she has to repeat the improvement course(s) in the forthcoming

semester(s), in which that course is offered.

5.   To be eligible for the award of Associate Degree, the students are required to complete prescribed course work of 71 credit hours with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 out of 4.
